Apolgies from Viking Leathercrafts (Frank)

Post by VikingLeather »

I would like to apologize to the Archive in general for not being on the site very often as of late. I have been busy churning out older orders left over from the summer during my surgery. Since the surgery was not planned, I didn't turn off the items on the site, so the orders kept coming in. I have just about finished up everyone's older orders I think and offered discounts to them as an apology for the long wait. Custom items just take longer to make, and they are what makes us different from most vendors.

SO, with a bit of sadness, I am going to start doing more cookie cutter items as an instock form of the website. I will have armor pieces cut out, belts, etc. to a certain point. Then once I get your measurements, I can put the item together quickly. I have used this in the past, but once I started offering so many options of embossing etc, I cannot keep all the parts in stock. So, we will stock a certain style, with the occasional special order being taken. I am getting older, a bit slower and crankier I think. So I need to make things a bit easier on myself. Our custom stuff is very pretty, I am very anal about getting it just right, but I can't keep up the pace with the number of orders that we get. Being so anal about the end product going out the door, makes it tough for me to trust anyone with the final construction stages and I do it all myself. I tried to let go a little, but that was a disaster, so I took it all back on myself.

So over the next few weeks, I will be stocking up belts, mug frogs, armor and will turn these on as I get inventory built back up. Maybe later on sometime I will start offering a "design your own" but that will be next year.

We will be placing a good number of new items on the site as well. New drinking horns, new buckles, jewelry, a few mundane items with a medieval flair. I will probably do a black Friday weekend sale again this year and offering special savings for Archivers as well.

Thank you very much for your time and patronage. I really do appreciate it.

Frank,

We all have times when life overwhelms us and I can't think of another merchant that has always gone the extra two miles to ensure that their customers are happy and well taken care of. Those of us that have been in the game for many years understand that custom anything takes time (it better!) and that our particular hobby/vocation/lifestyle is not suited to the "I'll get it at Walmart" mindset.

You have served us well for a lot of years, my friend, and you should know that we will always have your back. Now, rest up; get better; and by next Spring, you'll be back to normal.
Cheers,
