My question would be what type of fighting would it be used for?

my answer would be 'Ottomans' but thats probably not helpful......

Many of the Ukranian armourers seem to have dabbled in this.

I feel like that "Ottoman" chest you linked was posted here on the archive a few moths back. after a few questions was quickly determined to be a disaster. I could be wrong. But I don't think so.

Yeah I am not interested in the one linked.

As for what it'd be used for, probably WMA. I'd like something that would hold up to SCA, though.

Yeah that croatian example is kid's Hallowe'en costume quality (for one of you guy's kids, maybe - I wouldn't let my kid out of the house looking that dodgy...)

As I recall, Ilya made the great Ottoman armour for a BoTN fighter (Duke Felix?). It was one of the nicest modern takes I have seen.

I've done some mail and plates in the past.

I use it mostly for steel fighting, but it works fine for SCA as well.
Are you looking for a krug, like in that etsy link? or a yushaman or just something ottoman in general?

If you're on Facebook, he has some pics that should be viewable. Most of them are pretty dark, and the armour is blacjened, but this one is pretty clear.

Look up Scott Frappier.

Ilya Alekseyev

I have armour from him and have more coming. I can vouch for his quality and craftsmanship. His prices, for what you get are good too.
Sasha is right- He did make Scotts whole kit.

AK, I've been wanting an excuse to build a krug for a while now, so if you're looking for one I'd be interested in making it. I can guarantee a quality, good fitting piece of armour, but it definitely wouldn't be fancy as he stuff Ilya Alekseyev is making. I mean, DAMN, that's some beautiful work.

Cliffside Armoury on facebook does good custom work, tempered spring is what he is focused on right now I think.

I was looking for pics of an armored footstool when I read the thread title. This is apparently not a joke, though.
