WTB muscalata (leather?)

Looking for a musculata for show, thinking leather and painting it gold. It needs to match other outfits, so i might need to match the tone and hue. Any ideas? I know its easy i just have never done it before. Affordable is better. I might try to make one myself, so instructions might be useful as well
