Doubt Helmet George Clifford
Hello friends.
Good Morning.
We have not communicated for a long time.
I need your help and knowledge.
I am currently completing George Clifford's armor and am having a question about the construction of the helmet.
First, I do not know how to set the model if Armet, Close Helmet or any other model.
My question is on one of the three front parts of the helmet. I mean exactly the part of the chin (I think bevor)
This part has a side hinge in the model I'm building (image-1).
Does the opening of this part of the chin occur sideways in a single piece? Or is it in two parts, one for each side (image-2)?
Thanks for listening

Re: Doubt Helmet George Clifford
Cheek plates open one per side (2 hinged pieces) and close in the center to enclose the chin. Then the visor closes to seal everything up. This style is common when the neck is close fitting.

Thank you, great help.
So should I understand that it would conform to the image-2 fgura?
Would you have some pictures to make my job easier?

This video has a lot of comparison photos and some animations that show how the armet/maximillian 2 piece chin works.
I did NOT listen to everything the guy in the film was saying, so I am not sure how reliable the words are. I am only really recommending the pictures for reference.

Also this is part 1 and 2 of Eric Dube raising an armet. This will give you some idea how the pieces work together for a 2 piece chin.

Edit... there's a part 3 that is relevant.

Ian typically knows what he's talking about. He's been doing this for a while.Marco-borromei wrote:I did NOT listen to everything the guy in the film was saying, so I am not sure how reliable the words are. I am only really recommending the pictures for reference.

Yes, that is how it should work.marcos.blues wrote:Thank you, great help.

With the side view and that view you have a lot of what is needed to understand how it works.

Good to know, thanks! I was at work with no headphones right then, so no way to listen.Gerhard von Liebau wrote:Ian typically knows what he's talking about.
