Latin Motto's for 14th C England

Post by William Avery »

I am interested in sources/resources for Latin motto's in use in 14th C England. Anyone out there have suggestions?

I am toying with using (a quote by Virgil):

"Data Fata Sectus"

Which, as I understand it, translates to:

"Following what Fate decrees"

Any suggestions on something better or more appropriate?

My real-life family motto (which is traceable to c.1325) is "Fuimus" which roughly translates as, "I made my mark." It's the same motto that Robert the Bruce has.
