I'm about to have my wife take an image for you...

... of one I just received. Hopefully if I can get Janos to host the image for me (I have GOT to get some image space that works better than those stinking yahoo photo folders), I'll post it up tomorrow...

What not to wear unless you are a newbie, or someone posing as a newbie. I am on the left.

I have a new gambeson coming at some point soon I think...

Hey Wyrmspleen, I would be happy to show you a pic of mine but, I look like the Sta-Puff Marshmellow man in it. I only wear it under my CoP. A little too much padding in the body not enough in the sleeves but this link has some pretty nice ones.

Here are a couple of pics of Marvin wearing his gambeson underneath body armor:

Don't have any closeups of construction - Landen had some on his site, but they may be gone now.

Basically, I used the Period Patterns cotehardie pattern and just made it quilted instead of regular. Next one I make will be a little more fitted and "arming cote-ish" rather than like this. I have a gambeson for me in production right now, but don't have a digital cam to take construction pics.

I have just completed one made out of a moving blanket between linin.
The shoulders and elbows have an additional layer of heavy felted wool.

I think I may have made it a little too bulky. How do you quantify the amount of padding needed in a gambeson?

I'll post pics and a performance review in a few days.
