help thrust tip and buttspike construction pollaxe Atlantia

Post by Ringlancer »

hey all!

Finishing up my pollaxe for this weekend and I want to know the best way to make thrusting tips and buttspikes. What materials? What kinds of tape?

All told, it will be about 6 foot. It uses a By My Hand french pollaxe head, which I've added a layer of foam to and taped black. Going to add a rondel to it as well, and have a matching mace.

Sir Forgal's buttspikes work just fine. Make a cylinder with one open end out of leather, attach four strips of leather to the open end. Stuff some sort of appropriate padding in the closed end. Put the cylinder over the butt of the polearm. Tape the leather strips in place at the end. Voila, one buttspike.
