Wooden mace

Lately i've found myself with some spare time and have developed a pattern for a wooden mace head, it is made from 3 pieces and looks quite good if i do say so myself. I've founf that by using historical dimensions the handle has no way of attaching without compromising the heads integrity. Anyone got any ideas? i'll put pics up if you want but they won't be very good.

Turn a long thinnish tenon or bung on the end of hte handle, then turn/drill a hole through the middle of the head. Make sure the shoulder on the handle sits flush and square to the shoulder on the head, and use some good epoxy or urethane glue, and it should hold up.

personally, I'd use sliding dovetails to put the flanges onto the head.. like the base of a pedestal table with queen anne feet.

I have found a stupidly simple way to do it. simply incorporate the kength of the handle into the head. cut the pieces out one by one and slide together. i'll post back in a few ays with my prototype.
