7 day Auction-- de Trumpington Belt Set

Post by VikingLeather »

This auction will be for a buckle, chape, 15 belt stiffeners and 15 eyelet mounts. This configuration will make a 60" belt if the pieces are spaced 2" apart and can be spaced even 3" apart for a longer belt. All pieces are in pristine condition, never mounted on any belt. Included will be the jiffy rivets in solid brass to mount the belt stiffeners and buckle/chape. ( if you insist on keeping the 2" spacing and want a longer belt, I do have more stiffeners and eyelet mounts in stock and we will come to an arrangement on them) I also have solid brass round head rivets for the buckle and chape if you would rather have them. This set was produced by Tim Finkas of Historical Stud and Buckle Company. Bidding will end on 9/15/2004

This may be your last chance to get one of these lovely sets. This is the last set I have in brass. Good Luck.

As an adder, if you are the winner of this auction, for a nominal $25 I will include the 2" belt of your choice of colors in White, Red, Green, Black or Brown and will install the hardware for you.

Belt

Post by VikingLeather »

Brut,

As stated in the first post, " As an adder, if you are the winner of this auction, for a nominal $25 I will include the 2" belt of your choice of colors in White, Red, Green, Black or Brown and will install the hardware for you. "

I would be more than happy to take your offer, but I thought I would do the high bidder a service and make up the belt for them. The $25 will be for the belt blank --color of your choice and all the fittings set up for you per your specifications. Thanks

Auction

Post by VikingLeather »

Brut,

I listed the auction as a 7 day auction to end on the 15th. Your bid is a hefty bid, but I don't want to pull the auction too soon so as to not give anyone else a fair chance at the hardware. To be fair to the rest of the folks on the Archive, I will stand by my initial offering and end the auction on September 15. Rest assured, your bid is hefty enough that it may stand all the way to the end.

Yah. I cant go that high myself.

But how much for a red belt blank, 1 and 1/8 "
I bought a blank at Pennsic without looking at it too closely and once I started cutting it realized it was some sort of paint rather than a die, no penetration, over spray on the 'selvage' edge and neets doesnt darken its bright RED one iota.

Belt Auction

Post by VikingLeather »

Brut has had to retract his bid regretfully, so once again the bidding is still on. Right now Thaddeus has the bid at $125.

$125

Do I hear $135?

This may be your last chance to own one of these sets. Remember for a mere extra $25 I will be supplying a top quality belt blank and attaching all your hardware to the belt for you if you would like.

Leather

Post by VikingLeather »

I only sell great leather belts. I have the normal 7/8 ounce veg tanned leather which is nice and supple, and I also have a thicker 10/12 ounce bridle leather that is used for the expensive bridles and show tack. It is thicker, but it is very supple. Of course the better leather is more expensive, but it is worth it. You get what you pay for with leather. If you want a $5 belt, you will get a $5 belt.

I only supply good quality belts and leather armor. All this to say, Yes I promise it will be a very nice quality supple belt. Thanks Ld David.

One Last Bump

Post by VikingLeather »

One last bump. This auction will end tomorrow. Thank you for the bidders. On another note to those that didn't win the bid, I do have some of the belt stiffeners and mounts "extra" and will be auctioning those off as well, next week for those of you that will be interested. I do not have another brass buckle or chape.

Frank, you are an Evil, Evil man... That is the nicest buckel set I could find anywhere and he does not make them anymore. If I had the cash I wouldn't have hesitated. I am sure it will be beautiful and cant wait to see the results.

From the interest in the buckle set-sounds to me as if someone (HINT HINT HINT) should consider making them again. :D

Buckle Sets

Post by VikingLeather »

By the way, Mr. Studbuckle, would you happen to know anyone that might be able to manufacture more of the de Trumpington belt hardware series? I have a few folks that would be interested in the hardware.

Thanks

Yeah, I'd really like one in White Bronze, like we had talked about in 2002, Tim.

Folks, When I put in my bid of 210.00, I meant a total with the 25.00 to build the belt included.

It was not my intention to "dupe the archive". Does anyone feel that I did so?

I would lose sleep over this, seriously.

Frank,
You have paypal for 235.00.

I didn't intend to defraud anyone with my bid, but I can see how that may have been misleading.

I'd prefer a black belt that is through dyed (like a chromium) so the edges and back are black. 2" spacing with all the hardware. Should give me a nice long belt for my 32" waist. Should also fit over my COP and surcote if i so choose.

Tim, please make more of these!

Grendel,

I tried to make a joke and even put a little hehe, at the end of it when I sent you that PM. It was truly only me trying to kid around and I really hate you took it out of context. The $210 is truly a wonderful bid on the belt and that is all I will take for it. You have paid me $235 and I will return the $25 when I send you your belt.

No one, I am sure even thought anything about you "duping" the archive. I do apologize here on the forum for you taking me wrong. Again it was only my form of kidding in which this time was taken badly. I do apologize to you and I want everyone here on the forum to know that Grendel is an honorable man and in no way at any time was his honor questioned.
