Thanks Everyone!

Post by Uilleag »

My short add campaign has been very successful, and I wanted to take a minute to say thanks!

Out of all the responses I recieved, the opportunity to craft a tooled Linothorax, and some very interesting custom tooled bauzubands are going to be some of the most interesting projects I have done in some time.

I promise pics during/after construction.

For those of you wondering, of course I'm still taking commissions! Visit my website and take a look at my past work. I will gladly craft any of my muntions work, or a customized piece!

Its a greek cuirass, with attached pauldrons along with an attached leather skirt looking thing. With some tooling around the beltline and on the ends of the outter layer of the skirt thing.

My customer sent me a photo, unfortunately I can't down load it, only view it.....so I can't post it.

Linothorax examples:

Traditionally, they were made out of many layers of linen glued together. Some scholars have guessed that leather may have been used, but it seems a minority opinion. Still, painted leather and sandwiched linen have a very similiar look, and since the commission is for SCA combat, I'm more than happy to have Uilleag working on this.
