I am still knocking a few ideas around... All of you out there who have fought or are currently fighting as a Norman of 1066 through the first crusade, what kind of harness or gear did/do you use? besides the obvious jock'n'cup....
Thanks!

A couple of books you might want to try:
F.M. Stenton's "The Bayeux Tapestry" (1965). There is an essay by JG Mann concerning arms and armor found there.
D. Nicolle's "Arms and Armour of the Crusading Era, 1050-1350" (1988--this is the original publication date). This work was re-published a couple of years ago.

You will probably only find these books in your library, guy. Fortunately, I'm a librarian. If you don't find copies in your local library, give me a shout.
