An Account of the Regional Fight Practice in PonteAlto

Post by DWolfhunter »

...and so it came to pass, that on the day after the passing of Gyrth, a great war practice was held in Ponte Alto. Fell warriors from all the lands surrounding did come to prove upon their brethren the skills of war.
present were warriors of the Moose Lodge, and the House of Oldcastle, Fighters of Caer Mear and Ponte Alto, Storvik and other diverse places.
The battles were grimly in their orders set and it was declared that this day the field was dedicated to the fallen duke. He who had trained so many of the mighty souls upon that field. Many, myself included were proud to stand beside those of the Old Duke's house and strike blows in his memory.
Great was the fighting there, on bridge and field. Great dints and blows were dealt by proud men of honor. I saw Domenico Barbiere and Gustav Von Silberwald strive mightly and struck no few blows myself as well. Proud Uilleag was there fighting shoulder to shoulder with his lady-love. Too, there were Grendel and Raven of the Old Duke's House, who fought fiercely and with great honor. Abel , who called the field and commanded as often as he followed, too was seen to prove mighty feats upon his foes.
When day was done and the shadows began to lengthen, we gathered one last time upon the field and spoke in memoriam of Gyrth. We declared to the heavens and to all assembled that he would live on in our memories forever. Then, battered but happy we wnet our way , each to his own road. It was a good day.

I have often seen people uncivil by too much civility, and tiresome in their courtesy.
Michel de Montaigne (1533–1592), French essayist.

A good way to remember such a man.
Maeryk: ... and a lot of good people are going to be trashed, attacked, and destroyed in the process.
Keep that in mind while the speculation and pitchforks run free and rampant.
