Looking for Rattan 1 1/4 inch in diameter

Post by Eoghan Rurikson »

I am trying to find somewhere that I can get a stave or two of Rattan that is as close to 1 1/4 inch in diameter as humanly possible. These will be destined to become SCA swords for myself and some new fighters in our area. Has anyone had any great success with a particular person who does well at filling orders based on the diameter?

Franks has always done me right, the 1 1/4 is a little on the thin side at times but with a layer or two of tape it is just perfect.

I will checkout hte franks supply. I ordered from HH Perkins, and unfortunatly, it took ALOT of sanding to get his inch and a quarter rattan to an inch and a quarter.

The best rattan I've found is from Mandrake Armoury. My last order was so straight that I had to do a double-take to see if it was the turned/skinless variety when I opened the box (it wasn't).

Hope this helps,

He was actually my first choice, however according to his web-site, he only has larger rattan according to his website. My knight directed me to him.

Has the s&h gotten any better for small orders? I like getting shaved stuff from them, but the shipping was exorbitant the last time I ordered from them a few years ago.
