mace/hammer in wear
How would one have worn a mace or war hammer ?I can imagine hanging from belt hooks, resting in a backpack or knapsack, or some sort of specialized sheath(especially on spiked versions), but dont recall ever seeing one in an illustration that wasnt in hand.
Trying to learn derivations of field equations from a lecture is like trying to learn how to paint by watching Bob Ross on PBS.

By the 15th century, several maces had very pointy tines paralell to the handle. I've seen them both under the head on ones with wooden handles and over the hand guard on all-steel versions. They were essentialy belt-clips.
Personaly, I would only wear one like that when I was in my hard suit. I'l leery of needles.

Oh, sorry. LoL, It SuXxOrS 2 b . . .. I can't do it, I just can't. 733t speak makes baby Grammar cry.
I got back into Diablo 2 a while back when I got bored, so it's odd you say that.
To the topic at hand, I was under the impession that the English, huge proponents of foot combat, used warhammers at Agincourt. That would seem, to me, anyway, to suggest they probably were worn on the person in some manner.
I think the weapons were less romantic than swords, so they wouldn't have been depicted when not in use. That's just opinion and conjecture, mind you. Plus most of the pre-reformation English artwork is gone.

It's up to you now.

I hang my mace from the right side of my saddle so I have easy access to it when I break my lance.
I used to live in a room full of mirrors; all I could see was me. I take my spirit and I crash my mirrors, now the whole world is here for me to see.
