A simple question about the #13 Churberg armor

Post by morristh »

Hey guys,

I have seen many different interpretations of the armor itself, from the front. But not from the back side. (anyone have some back shots of some being worn?-Id like to see the strapping too)

So heres the question. Do the plates wrap all the way around and essentiall touch each other, or is there a gap down the middle of the back?

Thanks

Tim

Depending on interpretation, there are either one or two horizontal straps across the back. I blew mine a while back, and they're largely unneeded, but they make the armor snugger. If you like that (as I do) you may want to consider it gets put under some stress.

The sad part is I have a picture of the back of the harness, but it's an afterthought to the room in general, and the resolution is so low I can't make anything out. Sorry. Maybe someone else has a picture or the Churburg book?
It's up to you now.

Mine wraps around me too far. It should definately gap in the back so that the strapping works.

I have quite a few picture of mine and the original here:
