Did anyone notice the photographer on Currie Road, right at the entrance to the battefield across from the North Gate on the morning of the Causeway Battles?
I was crossing the street and before I stepped through the orange fence, he asked me to hold my shield up so that he could see my arms.
I wonder who he was, and where one might see his pictures.
Nope... looked at that forum's photos and I'm not in there. If anyone sees a photo of me (big guy in screaming blue/gold quarted livery like my device at left) - please let me know.

Actually, none of Darter's photos from this year are online yet - http://www.pbase.com/darter02/sca; I'm sure there'll be a 'feeding frenzy' when they are, since I'm pretty sure he took *thousands* of photos, of all kinds of pennsic scenes, and we'll all want to see them.

Thanks for the lead, though.
I'll help keep an eye out for you, though; it's always nice to see pics of oneself.

I know there was a crew on site doing research for a (I think) book on Pennsic and the SCA. They were taking pictures and interviewing people. Perhaps this was the group that photographed you?

(on Pennsic) I know that movie. It is the 13th warrior. A bunch of guys in armour that doesn't match itself or anybody elses, go on a trip and argue and get drunk and get laid and then fight Tuchux.
The group doing the book is E. F. Kitchen Fine Art Photography. They were set up in the woods with a lift gate truck with a generator and lighting and flunkies bringing the photographer mocha lattes and surreal crap like that. They asked me if they could take my picture and gave me and one of my guys a lift to the photo site and made me work for the camara baby. They told me I'd be a star and then they took advantage of me *sob*.
The picture they took is cool. I will scan it and post it later this week.
The fellow w/ the English accent? Yeah, he stopped me too right before the causeway battle.
I was a little disappointed that someone decided to stop me for pictures that day becuase my leather sabatons / spats had given out the day before, and my soccer cleats were uncovered. I wasn't exactly putting my best foot forward, if you will.
But he was very nice, and asked me a few questions about my persona, armour, and a who my liege would have been. I tried to answer them as quickly as possible because I was running late for the battle.
I never did ask why he wanted to take my picture though. I just assumed he was taking photos for his personal collection. It never occurred to me that they might end up on the net or published somewhere else.

I'm not entirely positive I'm making the right ID here, but... there was an older man in my encampment, with a British accent, who was making use of Pennsic to practice his video, photography, and interview skills for a class he's currently taking on the making of documentaries. If it's the same gentleman you're talking about, as far as I know his intent was to produce a ~10-minute mini-introduction to Pennsic purely for practice/class purposes. He promised he'd get in touch with me if and when he did put something together -- I'll let him know that people are interested in seeing the end result.

Well, the gentleman who stopped me was a bit older. He might have had white hair if I recall correctly. Your description of the fellow from your encampment does jive w/ what I remember about him and the questions he asked. I'd be willing to say that he's the guy. If he ever does finish his project, it would be great if we could see the final product.
