Really BIG Weapons Demonstration

Post by Lloyd »

Hi All,

In coordination with the Bristol Renaissance Faire Military Guild (Guild of St. Michael), the Compainie of the Northerne Sterre (the Living History part of the Historic Camelot Project) will be demonstrating a wide variety of medieval weapons against both soft and hard armour this weekend.

The demo will show the destructive power of a number weapons, from foot and from horseback, ranging from swords and Saxon axes to spears, lances (sharpened), maces and even a Bec d'Corbin against poor defenseless pumpkins and armour graciously donated by Allan Senefelder of Mercenary Tailor Armoury http://www.merctailor.com/

Allan has also made a few special, custom pieces that will be raffled off as well as a Kingdom of Heaven "SWORD OF IBELIN" donated by Museum Replicas http://www.museumreplicas.com

All this and a wide variety of medieval artists and merchants, a competitive Highland Games competition, more Celtic and Dark Ages Living History and more music than you can shake a club at.

More info is at: www.historiccamelot.org

Please let us know how the armour holds up, Lloyd.

And its people view their Sires in the light of fools and liars,
'Tis a sign of its decline and its glories cannot last."

Last BUMP, since I will be on site all day tomorrow getting the faire set up.

Hope to see you all there! (and don't forget that we are raffling off a custom Mercenary Tailor version of this helm:

Conical Helm

if I can get it away from my 3-year old daughter (who has been wearing everywhere since last night - it is fully padded!

We will also be doing our absolute best to destroy This and This during our weapons demonstration.

Thanks again to Allan of Mercenary Tailor for his support of our project!
Cheers,
