Painted Kettle Hat.
Thought I'd post here, one of Adams creations in action, a painted kettle hat. Adam loaned me this to try with my evolving harness. It is simply put Da Bomb. I have a pot helm currently on the rails, but after fighting in the kettle I am not sure I am going to like it.

Thanks James. I was just trying some of the elements out yesterday. I have a new cote from Marla that fits much better under the hauberk than the arming coat I am wearing there. She was putting the finishing touches on it so I wore the 14th century cote. The belt is my old squires belt and is really pretty glaring. The legs are from my 14th century kit and need considerable overhaul. They looked great to my eye when I built them 3 years ago - but now they are pretty glaring. For this kit they will be replaced by gamboised chausses ala one of the plates in the Osprey book 'Knights of Outremere' which shows a warrior with what looks like quilted chausses worn over mail chausses. The chausses will have splints in pockets on the inside. Add a surcoat and some canvas glued to the back of my shield and I will be pretty content. I am also building a pot helm, but Adams loaner kettle there has me pretty much sold on the wisdom of using that style of hat. It is a bit pointier than I have seen for c. 1206 but it definately rocks.
Somewhere there is a picture of most of the folks who were at practice. I am looking forward to seeing that one.
