a christian feastival

I am curious, (and please do not post any long objectionary politically correct objections) if there are any other christian fighters, preformors and enthusists who would be interested in starting a christian/ family friendly type of festival. I am interested in contacting the Royal order of Chivalry in Fla. I currently am an exucutive officer in a boffer combat group & I am looking at property for a boys home, I just think we could start like a 3-7 day adventure camp based on christian principalskind of a Christian pennsic, any one out there interested in this, pm me or e-mail me at

Just curious about this rev. but why have a Christian pennsic instead of just going to pennsic and setting up a Christian camp?

I only say this because with all the time, effort, and money you put into starting your own event you could possibly bring the boys to pennsic. They have boffer for them to fight in (melee too) and those little fellas can really fight!

They could watch the battles during the day, and hang out in camp at night. I'm not sure if you have been to pennsic but it does get a lot of bad press of being wild and crazy. If your looking for trouble, I assure you it will be found. Otherwise things can be quite tame.

Setting up your own camp can keep things family friendly.

Just a thought.

I actually am from pittsburgh, pennsic ddoes not allow children or youth unnder 18 without parents, i know some get away with it, but i couldn't with 20 kids from a boys home, i tried with 4 3 years ago!

I'd be very interested, but I am on the wrong coast.

I regularly do demos for church groups and homeschooling groups. I had hopes for a while on starting an SCA household along those lines, but it became too hard with my past baggage in the SCA.

If it's a boys' home, wouldn't you (or someone from there) be the legal guardian? I thought you could bring minors if you had the judge-signed paperwork...

It is sticky, for the boys home I worked with at the time, the parents did not lose total custody, nor did the facility obtain it.

The second factor, not to sound harsh, just matter of fact, Pennsic is not geared as an outreach, this is not a bad thing but it simply is not a proper set up for 20 (or even more ) kids from a housing facillity as the one I worked at , or the one I am starting. Most medevilist are fine folk, but penssic has an edge that certainly doesn't fit into the genre of Christian outreach. (i.e the nude swimming hole, ect.) I think great fun can be had at Pennsic, but I have a different goal for this particular event.

so please don't think I am trying to start a competing event, I wouldn't dream of doing this the same time, if for no other reason that I could not compete with that event.
