Deepeeka Pompeii & Mainz Gladius for sale!

Post by Gerhard von Liebau »

Hey folks,

I've got two Deepeeka swords I'd like to sell. Both have never been used for any purpose except display in my room. They were purchased about two years ago. Both are well-balanced.

One is a wood/bone handled Pompeii Gladius. It is 27" long. The blade has a bunch of weird marks from finishing on it, as well as some gunk that would come off. Deepeeka puts a protective lacquer on their blades, so I haven't messed with it by trying to remove the stuff, which was there when I got it. The scabbard is in good condition, but the brass has started to patina, and will need to be polished to get a nice shine again. The blade on the sword has a bit of a warp along it's length, but it's hardly noticeable except when you look down the blade.

Paid $160 or so, want $100, shipped within the US.

Second is a Mainz Gladius. 28" long. The blade is very clean, except for a bit of the same stuff under the lacquer along a couple of inches in one corner. By far a very clean surface, overall. The hilt was a bit wobbly when I got it, so I glued some tied string in between the pommel and hilt. It's better, but not entirely stiff. The scabbard is beautiful, and I'm assuming there is lacquer over it, as there is little show of wear and age on it. Very crisp detailing, too.

Paid $140 or so, want $115 because of it's great condition, shipped within the US.

I'm in need of this money to complete my SCA kit, so any buyers would be greatly appreciated. I prefer Paypal to cwldkl@yahoo.com and will also take money orders or personal checks. Shipping within the Continental US is included in the prices given. Thanks!

PM responded too. I'd like to add that I originally intended for the total to apply to shipping within the CONUS as well, but I don't believe that I'll cover the fees and still get the amount of money I want for the pieces, at that price.

Please figure the stated price, plus $10 to get it shipped.

Indeed! The $230 has already successfully transferred to my bank account, which is weird, as it took one day instead of the usual 3-4. I'm home sick from school today, and I have one of the busiest weeks of my life as far as reports/essays/tests are concerned, until Friday. So, I hope you'll allow me to wait until then to package the swords and ship them out, sir!

Thank you, again!
