ID this gauntlet

Post by James Arlen Gillaspie »

Do any of our European friends have a museum catalog number for this gauntlet? It's at the Alte Pinakotec in Munchen. I'm writing a technical article and this is one of my primary examples.

(if the link works), found in www.bildindex.de under munich, Bayerisches Nationalmuseum, under armour. It looks like the same gauntlet, but no specific catalog number on the picture.

http://www.bildindex.de/bilder/MI02351b13a.jpg for a big picture.

From the picture it seems the gauntlet was at the BNM, not the Alte Pinakotek, before 1914. Some of the pictures listed under the BNM have a "?" behind the provenance, and this specific one has no origin listed on the picture itself. In any case, it could be a starting point if nobody else comes up with anything better.
