WHAT?!?

Is there anything we can do to make you stay, my friend? I trust that you've heard the good counsel of your knight in this matter. If you desire additional counsel, please contact me.

If the conclusion is foregone, then I will send you a PM for the stuff.

Everyone sorry for the confusion but after several phone calls I realized something was amiss. I did not fill out the leaving the SCA thing most that know me realize that I am a lifer in this I believe. But I left my computer up and running and my sister came over to watch my son and thought this would be funny… not so much. Anyway to make a long story short I am not selling everything I will still be hording armor and helmets and I am NEVER LEAVING

13 helmets

Post by Corby de la Flamme »

13 helmets should have been a give away.

I mean, William likes his armor, but still.

Perhaps this thread could be deleted by the mods rather than cause more confusion?

Relieved.

WOW! I just can't belive your sister new enough about the SCA to use "White Mountain Armoury" and "Tom Justis" in her post. 8)

I was thinking, "Damn, I've only met him once and he seemed like a pretty good guy...sorry to hear he's giving it all up...wonder if he's got a good Norman helm he'd sell cheap  "

Actually Morgan, William is one of my squires and also one of my best friends.

The 'old clunker' I was referring to was him.

Obivously you haven't been down to...

CRAZY BYTON'S USED SQUIRE LOT!!!

Making room for the new models since Ought-4!

Make me an offer! I'm always selling!

If you can find any knight willing to make a better trade in on a Quality Used Squire, then STEAL THIER SQUIRE!!!!

I know. :) I've met William. Nice fellow, not really sure how he fell in with such bad company, actually.

But no, I was obtuse enough to not get the "get rid of the squire" joke.

So CAW CAW from me was all about a nice new helm. LOL

We will take any squire at trade! (Just look at my squires!!)

In my experience (Uilleag i'm looking at you!!!) Meridian squires are a little tricky to move on the resale value. The long hot days of summer down there tends to make them run a little rough and slow. The high humidity means that they often have a lot of problems with thier undercarriage....

But I will take any squire - same as cash!!! Come on down!!!!

If the quality is high enough we can get you off the lot wearing your new 10 gauge Atlantium bascinet today!!!

COME ON DOWN TO SILLY UILLEAG'S USED KNIGHT LOT!!!

I have 3, count 'em, three used, but still viable knights left! One is a vintage 90's model, a little cranky in the morning, but ply liquid lubricant and he is off and ramblin....

One has atendancy to pontificate, but ply with expensive european beers and he'll talk even more.

The latest model only has 2 years on 'em...a bit thick in the middle, and whiny, but a great deal none the less!

Uilleag no runs for cover!

What can I get for a Circa 1980's Knight -complete with an authentic "No shit I was there when the first guy put on a cup... and we laughted at him" Story and a matching Viscountess/Master, both have several good miles left in them....

The problem with trading knights (besides that whole Fealty to the Crown thing) is that they loose 80% of thier value the minute you drive them off the lot!

Now a Gently Used Squire on the other hand, is an investment in your future!

(And Uilleag, for someone running up on the end of a one year lease with a buy out clause, you sure are getting lippy! )

"Nope I do have 13 Helms."

Thats wierd?

I have
1 pig faced bascinet from Anshelm
1 Klapvisor bascinet from Cet/Louis/Justsus
1 Romance of Aexander bascinet from Cet
1 simple bascinet from Valentine
1 light weight Klapvisor Bascinet from Louis Morre

I'll probly build another one soon

(yes 5 bascinets)

1 Topenkopff from Louis
1 Pembridge Greathelm from William Ringlancer
1 Spagen Helm from Caleb Hogg
1 Norman Nasal from Illusion
1 Barbute From Illusion
1 Norse Goggle helm
1 kettle hat
1 Tiny goggle helm for the baby
Kates "fantasy helm"

I think thats it so like 14...i think i have 1 more so maybe 15??

I really want a WMA kettle hat for melle use.

Hell i think i have maybe 4 complete SCA legal rigs.

I've got maybe 15-20 live swords? couple spears maybe 4 axes, 3 or 4 pole arms. Various maces war hammers an TONS of daggers.

Getting toward a full medieval kitchen.

Got a house, well a couple rooms full of medieval reproduction furniture. I even have a wagon, not just the one from HE. I have a full size 18th/19th century hay wagon. Looks like the HE wagon, but 5 times bigger.

Hell i have 3 tents.

And there is more in the works.

I think just maybe if i get a few other high end odds and ends i might be able to pull off a lesser knight portrayal at Crossroads in Time.

I still need banners, i need a bit more furniture. Livery collars.

Getting comfortable with my rig and clothes. Need more for Kate and the boy, working on that. She has a bunch of grooming stuff.

I don't hesitate to say that i'm sure i have at least 50 thousand dollars in medieval stuff _easily_

It would be funny to see how many helmets people have, us helmet hoarders. I was just put to thought on it

One mid-late 15th german sallet,
2 great helms late 13th-early 14th
one Mac Bible helmet
one proto greathelm late 12th early 13th
two bascients (one open faced, one with visor)
two spangens
Skull cap- kind of a helmet--
One purchased helmet-- spun top from early to mid 90's I call lovingly the ogre helmet as it needs a big head to keep it up.
I will not list the partially finished ones as that is just not worth the effort (some may nevr get done.... j/k).
In the end I think it is because I cannot decide what period to do so I have slowly been working on all of them and sometimes people change their minds and default on me and so I keep them around... Most havbe gone off to loving homes though.
