What's going on with House of the Wolf Leather?

Post by Mueric »

Greetings,
I am posting this in hopes someone out there knows what's up. I placed an order with House of the Wolf Leather in December last year, and made the final payment in March of this year. I have yet to see my order. Has this guy fallen off the face of the earth? Very poor way to run a business in my opinion. As of now I am $250 out with no merchandise. Anyone else received this type of customer service?

Actually, no. Dan's reputation is tops in this industry. I'm sure it's a mistake. They happen from time to time. When you bring it o his attention he will fix it. So chill. It'll be ok.

Mureic,

I concur with Animal. It's not like Dan, and I'm sure there's a good explanation.

Dan is moving right now; his lady is in the military and was just reassigned. He was heading to NC from MD straight from Pennsic and they did not have a residence, to make matters worse his lady was told she was shipping out to Iraq when she arrived on base during war week, I believe she is leaving this week. Dan likely will be out of contact for a week or two so don’t expect any communication for a little while.

What was your delivery time? He is slightly behind and had a 6 month plus delivery time to start with when I asked a few months ago. I know he has lots of orders to fill and he is catching it up, he made several deliveries at Pennsic to my friends.

I have worked with him as several others that I know. We feel he is one of the best SCA businessmen out there.

I know how worried you must be, but rest assured knowing that Dan is an honest, kind, and generous person. You have nothing to worry about. I am POSITIVE he will make things right with you just as soon as he possibly can.

I can only agree with what others have said. Dan's honesty is beyond reproach. Since he is moving I'm sure he is swamped with that.

Yea, I have to chime in on the "Dan is a stand-up guy" issue. I've only seen him a half-dozen times, but he's a great guy.

And I wish him the best with his new (farther from us) home. :(
It's up to you now.

House of the Wolf Leather

Post by Mueric »

I appreciate everyone's comments about Dan. If I came across as being down on him and his business, that wasn't my intention. I am just anxious, like I'm sure everyone else is when it comes to getting a new piece of armor. Best to Dan's wife hope she gets back safe and sound from Iraq. I'm looking forward to getting the gorget and gauntlets I ordered from House of the Wolf.

Mueric,

First off, your order is finished and ready to ship. I was hoping to deliver at Pennsic, but was unable to get in touch with you for the proper coordinations.

If you could email me at danhouchins@houseofthewolf.com, with your mailing address I will get them out to you as soon as possible.

As most of you have heard, I did in fact have to move the shop to Ft. Bragg, NC. We left Maryland on th 4th of August and I finally arrived in Fayetteville on the 19th, (after Pennsic).

Because of my wife's deployment schedule it took two weeks to find a house to move into, then an additional week to get the movers to deliver all of our stuff, (the shop being the prime interest for me). It then took an additional 5 days to get the local internet company to show up at the house and hook up our internet.....

The email account is up and running, the commission list has been updated and the shop is now up and operational. After today's admi8nistrative nightmares, I will be in the shop 12 hours a day until I get caught back up on everyone's orders. Since we are in a house and I have a full-sized garage to use as a shop, I can work evenings and weekends without the pesky down stairs neighbors banging on the ceiling. No upstair or down stairs neighbors to worry abuot in the new shop!

For those of you with specific concerns, issues, or questions, please email me at the addy I gave above. I will have the auto-reply turned off in about 10 minutes. I will attempt to answer everyone's questions, including the 50 + messages waiting in my inbox with in 24 hours....

Please bear with me as I complete this horrifying move....I've been to over 20 duty assignments and have never experienced the delays and drama that this one ensued! Again, my apologies for the delays and my assurance that I have not run off with anyone's money, and that I am deligently working to correct the problems.

Welcome to Attillium, we are glad to have you down here. Maryland's loss is our gain.
