Female Gothic by Ugo
I have been looking to get jousting armour made for my wife and we really love the shape to the armours Lorenz Helmschmied made for Maximillian and Sigismund.

Crap!!!! now I HAVE to get back to work on it!!! I feel bad, holidays , wisdom teef, buying house and a few other things have gotten in the way!(.... Um what other excuses can I throw in...)
I feel bad I haven't gotten more work done on it. Now that all that's over, I'll finally get to work on it .....dammit....
Kisses, ( in a manly way)
Ps. I hate stainless - she fights back! likes it rough!

Her birthday is coming up, what are you doing in March, Ugo?
If you had heard just how many times Ugo can use the word "Sexy" in one sentence when describing armor you would think twice about putting your daughter in it.

Ugo,
Where do you live?
The reason I ask is that I want to come by your place, give you lots of beer, play guitar for you, ect, for the privilege of someday saying "Hey, that's nothin'. I know this guy that..."
I'm serious.
I wont be back in the 'States until next summer.
I'm dead serious.

Well, for "The Ugo" This is not a challange, it is just copying.MattB wrote:What!! a straight forward reproduction, albeit a beautiful one, is Ugo feeling OK?
Seriously though, looking good already even before tarting up.

Inspiration for the piercework on the back
She is small but not quite Robynesque. Of course I am about 5-6" taller than her and our legs are close to the same length so her torso is much shorter.

Thanks to all!
I'm back to working on it with a vengance! I started on the pauldrons while I wait for my "fit model" to come by so I can get the back and front lined up & rolled. Piercework on the front is done, similar to what I did for Patric and only a little filework on the lames are left to be done once it's all together.
As far as the design, I took a few liberties with the neckline because the client wears a later period-ish gorget and the gothic neckline wouldn't have worked for this particular piece. The piercework is done with a whitney a bit of chisel and lots of little files. I don't have the patience for jeweler's saws! 14 ga stainless..... wow.... it's personal now.... Don't forget to use FI-AR!!!!! (fire)
This is the smallest armour I've made, It's soooo cute!!! I'll take more pics soon with a ruler or something for scale, I have paws for hands so they just look big anyway.
Good news! Last night we got a call from our realtor and we are with house!! ...it has a shop and all kinds of goodies!! Now begins all that paperwork and inspections and grown up stuff. Plus I'm preparing for a lecture in Seattle on the 8th of Feb for the Seattle Metal Guild and working on a couple of design projects which have me twitching trying to find time... why does everything happen at once? I go months bored and then pow! I'm swamped! Life is good.
Ok, enough babbling. Some of us have work to do. Gaston, I'll try to call you soon about the spacesuit (feel free to send reference material so I can begin marinating) And a time frame so I can -orgamanize- my time a bit better.

That is one hell of a compliment. Way to go, Ugo.James Arlen Gillaspie wrote:Sweet, elegant forms! I could scarcely have done better myself! But what's up with the neckline? Looks like a little 'Maximilian' influence creeping in...
