Post by Gruber »

With brigadine body armour, what time period would this kit most closely fall under. Yup- that's a dog face clapvisor on a close-salet skull. I would like to partake in the "Golden Sabaton Pas" in Ravenslake coming up Labor Day- but this is going to be my kit.
Oh yeah... My persona is a 15th c. German guy who knows how to build armour and likes trying new things with it by testing it on the field.

For the most part, brig limb defenses will be mid14th, I think. I'll look in my books to check and see if I can find much in the way of later examples.

The sallet looks like some examples you will find drawn by Durer.

hi there, looking at your drawing i think the gauntlets are much later than the leg harness you have shown drawn here, also the pauldrons pictured look quite fantasy ( very cool however)

hope to be of small help :)

Well i've seen similar "brigandine" style cuisses on 14th century effigies, but the form of the gaunts, couters etc are quite 15thC German. You may be interested in the following pic from white rose munitions.
