duck-tape body form

A little while ago someone posted a link to a page with pictures and instructions on how to make a duck-tape body form using wire mesh and filling it in with foam. Can some please repost this url?

I will try to post a finished result picture tonight. earlier ones were not filled with foam. the foam worked great by the way.

How many cans of foam did it take? Also, did you take thickness and width measurements to try to make sure that it didn't just make everything round?

hi there I wedged it between two boards and filled about 1/4 of the body. as it dried I filled it some more. it turned out a bit round to my eye but not that bad.

will have to take measurements to know the actual results.

foam two big cans maximum expanding foam. beware of the minimal stuff or you will need much more... 20 oz? not the 12-16 ones from home depot.

it also shrinks some so you might have to back fill any places it shrinks too much.

this works pretty well. much better than using someone else as a model.

A customer recently mailed me a duct tape "body cast" to help me make a cuirass for him. It was very helpful to have a 3-D form handy instead of going exclusively from measurements. He just sent the taped shirt, and I lined it with a garbage bag and filled it with styrofoam peanuts-packed them in well. That way, it collapses nicely when you're done, but is still nice and solid to work with-not to mention lightweight.
