I am trying to find images and information about a sort of armor used in the late medieval era. I can't find information about them online or in any of the books I own.
It is composed of bars or chains that run down the length of the arm, usually just one or two bars, secured to the gauntlet, cop, and spaulder. They were very light and cheap, mainly used by commoner infantry. I think there may have been some pics of them in the Osprey books about the Hundred Years War or the War of the Roses. i suspect they'd be useful against swung weapons, and would be worn over a gambeson for a bit more solid protection.
Does anyone know about these? What are they called? Any useful links?

If you were a poor Indian with no weapons, and a bunch of conquistadors came up to you and asked where the gold was, I don't think it would be a good idea to say, "I swallowed it. So sue me."
