New Hastings 2006 Video!

Post by Egfroth »

See http://www.english-heritage.org.uk/serv ... /nav.10603

Watch and enjoy.

Can anyone capture this? I really want a copy (I'm the guy in the red cloak, with an axe over my shoulder, walking behind King Harold near the beginning).

Oh, and I see Maredudd combing his moustache!

Overall, not a bad production. The voice-over's one of the better ones I've heard, and Bill the Bastard in particular does quite a brilliant job of explaining the sequence of events - I just wish his kit wasn't so manky.

The "arrow in the eye" thing is stated as though it's proven fact rather than one of a number of theories, but hey, I guess it's still the most widely accepted version.

Oh yes, and we really do need to cure the public of the word "chain mail"

The site says you can get a good resolution copy for 2 pounds, but I'm such a pathetic Luddite, I have no idea how to get it for myself . . .

It's not really armour if you haven't bled on it.

The fellow from Canada was who I stood next too through the battle. I also meet the guy from Spain he was in our line.

Remember this is me, the original Luddite.

I think I need to call my computer literate son-in-law in to fix it for me. I got intosome kind of endless registration and verification loop, and eended up quitting in disgust.

Thanks Egfroth, made me go all goose pimply, again.

Not a bad production, thought it captured the atmosphere well, it would make a good reenactment recruitment flick.

I am all aglow. excellent. Took me right back.
