I won't make it to Yuma, but I'll be at Estrella. I won't be merchanting, but I'm pretty easy to find. I'll either be on a golf cart as one of the autocrats, or on the field playing General. Look me up.

Some really cool grill-work there! I'm not sure I've noticed anyone else doing artistic expression on the grills aside from trying to make them give the feel of the closed-face version.

I think it's pretty cool (and refreshing) to see a grill that actually enhances the rest of the helm aesthetically. Awesome work!!

WOW man I really like what you did with your helms as well as the grills. Instead of making the helm square for the grill you shaped the cheek plates and integrated the grill into that with some very nice artistic representation. I really do hope you will be making more helms like that. I would be interested in one for sure.

Only suggestion I would make is to move the "Coming Soon" stuff out of In-Stock, and into Gallery. At least until it is actually In-Stock.

Can you make a rough estimate on how much a sallet like the one in the gallery would run?

$200. We should have one done in the next couple of days, if not today. 10 gauge dome, 14 gauge bottom, mild steel.

Oh, and if it helps, 27 1/2" inside brow diameter. I can't really judge what head size this will fit as everybody pads their helms differently.

No, we haven't started gauntlet production, we are currently building up stock on helms and knees & elbows, as well as retooling some of our shop, but I'll keep you informed.

You should get to practice tonight anyway, knock the rust off man :D

Any idea of what a Norman would run? More basic, something shaped like the first/last ones (minus eyebrows, skull).

$200. Pretty much the going price for all of our "munitions grade" helmets. Although I kinda hate that term, because we aren't slapping a grill on a spun top bowl and calling it a "helmet". But you get the idea.

$100 Billion!!! :D

We have no real plans on remaking that one anytime soon. It was a custom Mongol helmet made for a friend, it took about 2 years to make working on it for a couple of hours every weekend. It was an insane project, very beautiful work, but a real pain. Lots of brass work and brass inlays on the dome.

The main helmets we are concentrating on right now are the Sallet, a Roman/Celtic Cavalry helm, and possibly a Norman style.

Please post a pic of your pure Norman when you get the chance.
Though the nasal on the last one in your gallery is cool, I had something more low-key in mind. :D

Thanks,

On the coming soon page, you have a picture of arm protection.

Is that a "bazuband" style where the cop is hard connected to the vambrace or is it a floating cop style?

Also, what is it made out of and how much will it be?

The cop is attached to the forearm, bud not quite as rigidly as a normal bazuband style as it is held there by one rivet. It has great motion. The ones pictured are my personal set, and I can barely tell they are there. They are leather and 6061 T6 aluminum.

They are prototypes, so once I get the pattern down pat for production, I can give you a better estimate of the price, but somewhere around $150

Wow, the price is right! Do you have a picture of the sallet from the side? I'm looking for a particular style of sallet, and can't tell if this one has the profile I want.

Doh!!! Forgot to take a side pic before it sold. Thats the only real problem with helmets, they sell before we get them off of the buffing wheel and before I can actually get them online. I'll try to get a side pic of the one we are finishing tomorrow.
