Medieval Design Review

Post by Ken Mondschein »

Needing some sort of overtunic/jacket, I purchased the sopraveste da lavoro ("work overtunic") from Medieval Design in Italy, as well as a comb for my girlfriend. It was shipped out promptly and arrived safely here in Paris. It fits me very well and I'm very pleased with the craftsmanship (no visible machine stitching) and especially the gorgeous soft wool they used. Overall, it's a well-made garment. I plan to pair it with a HE early doublet, shoes, shirt, and hose.

The comb is also well-made, even if it's not quite as fine-toothed as medieval examples (then again, we don't have to worry about lice in this say and age) and a wonderful medieval accessory.

I love the stuff from these guys.

But I ordered a ballock knofe form them a couple years ago and it never came. The guys over there did their best to provide me with info, but it never turned up, and I never got a refund :(.

Probably not their fault, but it has left me.... touchy.
