Thanks Hal hope you don't get offended if I tell you I like it. There's just something really cool looking about it.

That's hal's first ever helmet. He calls it Mr. Lumpy.

My bad. Thank you gentlemen.

Attention newbies with only a few tools.

Yes you can make a costume helm too.

1. Get some left over roofing copper. Dumpster diving at construction sites.
2. Get some 18ga. shear drops at the sheet metal shop. Cut out shapes with snips.
3. Cut a 2" dia hole in a thick rubber matt.
4. Put another thick matt under the matt with the hole in it.
5. Sit down on the ground and pound out the shapes with a ball peen hammer in the hole. Smooth with rubber mallet.
6. Form the bands around a tree. Hammer it to shape with a big rubber mallet.
7. Drill holes and cut rivets out of nails.
8. Pound the rivets on a piece of steel or iron. Use the ball peen end of your hammer.
9. Steel wool it and polish with car wax.

That was how Mr.Lumpy was made.

Hal.

Those rivets look like pop rivets, other wise better than some drek I've seen on SCA fighters....
