Review: Historic Stud and Buckle Company

Post by Trevor »

I just got in an order of 100 buckles from Timothy Finkas. They are of excellent shape and finish. Very nice 14th-15th c. buckles, withe the pointy "D" shape that is unique to the high middle ages.

Excellent price, as well. I have compared his buckle prices to others and he is about 50% of what most charge for brass buckles of this quality.

Although Tim was hampered by the response time of his foundry where he sub-contracts out the casting work, he let me know how the order was coming. As he was aware I was in no hurry, this was not a problem. When he did have the order in-hand, he put the finishing touches on all the buckles very quickly and had my order in my hands within one week.

Time does an outstanding job at a very reasonable price. He went above and beyond with my order, and I will definitely give him a call for future brass casting needs.
