LAST price drop folks and then the wedding will be over...
My Roman Gallic style SCA helm is for sale. The helm has been around for a long time but is solid as a rock. It was tin dipped back in 93, and though scratched up and slightly dinged from use shines up quite nicely when you put some Brasso on it. The grill is held on by 4 bolts and is removable which makes hammering out any dents you may receive fairly easy.... The cheek plates are hinged. It has passed all SCA marshall's who have inspected it in An Tir. It fits my 23" head with ease. I also added a small extension to the chin for a bit more protection. The crest is included. The first picture is unshined and the second is a bit shinier but you can see what it looks like with and without the crest.

(on Pennsic) I know that movie. It is the 13th warrior. A bunch of guys in armour that doesn't match itself or anybody elses, go on a trip and argue and get drunk and get laid and then fight Tuchux.

In order for me to get a helm I would need twice that I would think....give or take a few $$
Thats the main reason I am looking to trade. It's a little old but it is very solid.

If I wasn't saving my pennies for Gulf I would get this helm. I like the look and it does seem very solid. The tinned look is just to cool. Do you have any idea what it is made out of and the gauges of the steel are? Just curious.

It is 14gauge mild through and through.....I had it tinned afterwards because it was a period thing to do and yes...it looks cool. Even now about 14-15 years later when you shine it up it gleams like a mirror....of course this mirror has a scratches and scrapes but it really looks nice. Thats why I am loath to let it go, but as money goes...you know how that goes....

Bingo!!! Thats exactly why I did it....

I just might seriously have to see if I can tin the next helm I get. The look is just great and yep, very period. I can understand how money goes. I do hope it gets a good home and you get a good trade or amount for it.

Buy it and find out.....
Actually with 2 screw/nut combo's. One front and one rear of the crest. Also one full length strip of heavy duty velcro. One side on the crest one on the helm. I never had it knocked off. The worst that ever happened was it getting knocked about two iches to the side from a full bore smack froma halbard that luckily missed my head and only got the crest.
