Brutal Tactical Knife for Trade or Sale

Post by Rhyance »

There were several sizes made by the Columbia River Knife and Tool comany (CRKT) of Steve Corkum's design. The one I'm offering is the big one - 11.5 inches total. It's a massive knife - 1/4" thick, though I seem to have lost that picture. the hilt is cord over same' (rayskin), the blade shows some polish marks from the scabbard. It is really sharp - the point especially.

Here's what an internet retailer has about them:

Here's a look at the left side:

...and the right side:

...and what it looks like in my hand:

The scabbard has a positive grip on the knife, so much so that it can be carried hilt-down (though I wouldn't). The belt clip attaches via some Chicago screws and rubber spacers which can be positioned at several points around the scabbard to allow small-of-the-back above-the-belt, below the-belt, in front tanto-style, or on the hip. All options are right or left handed of course. Or you could lash it to your pack. Whatever.

Here's a detail of the scabbard:

So why am I letting it go?

Honestly, I don't need it, and it's too good a knife to just stay in my desk drawer. I've got a good dagger, two excellent seaxes, and swords adequate to my persona.

However, these days I'm playing harp at a lot more Celtic music festivals and the like - just had a couple well-received concerts this month and the CD's are selling decently. What I could really use is a good-quality sgian dubh (daywear) to go with my Scottish rig. Either wood or antler hilted. I really think the ebony-and-cairngorm ones look better with evening wear, which I don't do yet.

I mean a good one - you know what a good knife is. It's not zinc-plated-brass junk.

If you'd like to make such a trade, please let me know (I would need pictures). We'd each have a week's approval period of our new acquisition. Otherwise I'll be offering the knife for a straight-up auction in a few days.

Thanks,
-R.

I'm interested in a trade.
