Interesting list. Some folks I am used to seeing on here, not on it.

Have an idea on semifinals, but have 5 folks, to fit in 4 slots, :) , will have a better idea after this weekend, when I hope to see some old friends I havent seen since Pennsic, at Blackstone.

Okay let’s just say everyone shows up… though we all know this will not be the case, here is my final 8. As the time draws closer I will narrow the list down to my final two.

Afshin Darius
Matthew of Battle
Brian Killian the Red
Bryan of Sacred Stone
Jason Kinslae
Logan Ebonwoulfe
Ragnarr Blackhammer
Robert deRath

Just wanting to get some action happening here

Lol, well your bottom 5 are the 5 I am trying to fit in my semis. :)

Just dont know how much Robert has been practicing lately, he is my unknown.

I want to say Bryan/Logan/Ragnar/Jason as my final 4. But if Robert has been practicing hard, I would put him in there, and have to figure out who I would take out, of Jason or Bryan.

This Crown is very top heavy. I have been waiting on the injury report to make odds, but I will make some now, and depending on how the injury report comes out I will update them.

3-1 Logan Ebonwoulfe
He will win. He has a focus that no one else in this list has, and it will help carry him through to the finals, and likely the win.

10-1 Ragnarr Blackhammer
Ragnarr is a danged good lefty, but that holds as many problems for him as it does hold assets. Logan is really good against lefties, so I don't think that will prove to be a help for him there. Likewise, Ragnarr is weak in multiple weapons forms, so that will also affect him.

10-1 Robert deRath
Robert is really solid. The problem is that is all he is. He will need to be a little more than that to beat Logan. Like Ragnarr, although he is really good, there is not the intense level of focus here that Logan brings to the table. Unlike Ragnarr, Robert is good at multiple weapons forms. The best thing that I think he could do would be to call Logan out with bastard sword in the finals, as he might be stronger with Logan in that form. If he does that and stays away from SS, he could have a good shot.

20-1 Bryan of Sacred Stone
Bryan has continually been finishing near the top of Atlantian lists. He has a long history with Logan, being formerly from the same household, so Logan still holds some wujoo over him I think. Bryan is also weaker than Logan in multiple weapons, not that I think this would matter in the finals, as they would probably both pick SS for each fight (although it would be to Logan's benefit to probably pick something else, he has enough confidence in his SS to take Bryan).

25-1 Jason Kinslae

Jason is really good. He doesn't realize how good he is though, and doesn't have the focus that he needs to stay on target and win.

30-1 Brian Killian the Red

Gets better every day. He could surprise a few people.

40-1 Afshin Darius

Afshin is a really good Atlantian unblet who routinely finishes well in unbelted tournaments around the Knowne World. Too bad this isn't an Unbelted Tournament or his odds would be higher.

50-1 Christian Thomas of York

Solid fight. Can bring it if he needs to. The problem is that in the final rounds I think that he would need to rely on being able to take advantage of the mistakes of others, rather than being able to take control of the fights.

75-1 Matthew of Battle

Another good unbelt.

100-1 and greater
Aaron Rebellnus
Askold Grimr Brotamaor
Axel of Tavastia
Brianna bint Isleif
Duncan MacLaren
Humfrey Mathew Lovett
Michael O'Comhdhain
Theron Andronikos
Mungoe McKlinchey

Enjoy!

DA

PS my semis are Logan vs Ragnarr and Robert vs Bryan Finals Logan vs Robert winner Logan

I see your final eight:

Afshin Darius
Brian Killian the Red
Bryan of Sacred Stone
Jason Kinslae
Logan Ebonwoulfe
Ragnarr Blackhammer
Robert deRath
Theron Andronikos

and give you my final four in order of probable outcome.

Logan
Ragnarr
Robert
Jason

All depending on likelihood of presence, I also think Bryan could take any of those spots.

No your're right. but ya' got to go with the available list.

If the gentelmen dukes don't show it will probably be Bryan and Robert, or Jason and Robert in the finals.

That's a pretty tough list to widdle down. Ragnar vs. Logan is clash of the titans stuff though. I wouldn't want to be either of those helmets.

In the grand theoretical scheme of unstoppable force vs. immovable objects; where Logan or Ragnar are "the unstoppable" in the equation, "the object" tends to get the hell out of the way.

Jason took me to pieces at Yimir, even if I hadn't have broken down he had the better of that fight. It will be a while till I'm ready for a crown.

But I'm always ready to accidentally axe punch a squire.

I have found most events to be smallish lately, gas prices blow and the winner will have to travel. On that note putting crown 7 hours plus driving distance from the larger half of the kingdom population likely did not help turn out.

I was hoping to fight in this crown, but then my wife somehow got pregnant, and the Lady I was going to fight for had to cancel due to family issues as well.

I'm sure other folks have similar issues.

Everybody keeps talking about gas prices, so it must have some sort of effect.

Also, and who knows where these things come from, but I've heard that Dukes Ragnar and Logan won't be fighting.

There is also the idea of taking on a reign that may have even higher gas prices. One event is not a big deal, a year of events on the other hand...

In the absence of Ducal prerogative, and the Dukes Ragnar and Logan, here is an optional list:

5:1 Robert deRath

With Logan and Ragnar out he is best prepared to win.

8:1 Bryan of Sacred Stone

Bryan wants it the most out of this bunch and has the skill to back that up. I think he vs Robert would be a good match in the finals. Robert would be smart to go to multiple weapons to defeat Bryan as he has little in the way of weapons depth- compared to Robert at least who is a real rocker with the Bastard Sword (metal!!!).

12:1 Jason Kinslae

Jason is probably a more skillful fighter than Bryan, but he doesn't have the force of will that Bryan does, so I think Bryan will probably do better. They would be a good match in the finals or anywhere else as well.

18:1 Brian Killian the Red

He is there, and is finally starting to realize it. If his switch flips in this Crown, he could certainly win.

25:1 Afshin Darius

Afshin has been fighting forever it seems like and slowly but surely always getting better. This would be a good opportunity for him to tack charge and win Crown. The issue is, can he overcome everyone else to get there. I mean he is good and all, but can he beat the other dudes to win? The draw will play a major role in how well he does.

30:1 Matthew of Battle

Matthew is someone who could also do well based on the draw. He is finally getting good and hungry enough that he will start affecting tournaments. Like he will probably knock out at least one contender. Right now, I don't think he yet has the juice to go all the way.

35:1 Mungoe McKlinchey

Frankly, without the heavy hitters (Dukes) in this tourney, Mungoe would have a huge chance to go all the way. Likely, though, Bryan or Robert or Jason could throw with enough heat often enough to take him down. He could easily end up affecting this list.

40:1 Christian Thomas of York

Is still a solid fighter and could do well in this tourney.

50:1 Axel of Tavastia

In the past has not been a closer. We will see how far he goes.

75:1 Theron Andronikos

Just got Knighted. This will be his first time in the big show since then.

100:1 and above

Aaron Rebellnus
Askold Grimr Brotamaor
Brianna bint Isleif
Duncan MacLaren
Humfrey Mathew Lovett
Michael O'Comhdhain

Enjoy!

rumors.....

why does anyone pay attention to them when they could easily just ask people directly? but then if that happened the sca would crumble to pieces.

to date ive had no more than three people ask me if im fighting, i bet rags has had no more than me.
