Tooled bazubands, taking commissions

Post by Kilkenny »

Here's an example of a pair I just finished.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/80888788@N00/2439445133/

Hardened 13 - 15 oz leather, solid brass buckles. With equivalent tooling to the ravens on the above pair, price would be $105.

My bazubands start at $75 and my shop rate for tooling is $10/hour.

Takes about 2 weeks from the time I receive measurements to completion.

Thank you for looking.

Which way? Personally, I think 10/hr is pretty cheap, especially considering the quality coming out.
Westerners, we have forgotten our origins. We speak all the diverse languages of the country in turn. Indeed the man who was poor at home attains opulence here; he who had no more than a few deiners, finds himself master of a fourtune.

Gavin, I don't paid until the end of the month, but if I've got the money I'll be putting in an order for a pair.

Yeah. I was pretty surprised when he gave me the estimate on them, myself. Hooray for good surprises, eh? I'll make sure to review 'em after I get 'em for you guys. I expect that they'll be ridiculously awesome.

Pretty busy weekend. These two sets of bazubands, a pair of gutter vambraces and a pair of schynbalds.

Gavin,

I think that you are charging too little for your tooling. $20.00 - $25.00 / hour would be more appropriate for your craftsmanship. IMO
