Fighting Training video URL Request.

Post by DietrichUhl »

I know there are training video that are on the net.

What I don’t know is where the URLs are to access them. Our shire has 4+ rank new fighters who would love to see video especially of exercise that take two people. We will take all the video explained advice we can get. We can take the videos and make them slow motion if we really want to look at something which is why we like the videos.

I am not looking for videos of fights just training videos.

Thanks

I've tried looking for some training vids too. Other then checking out all the flash videos on Duke Paul's site ( http://www.bellatrix.org/school/ ),
I found 3 videos from An Tir that altho there is not alot of full speed, there is a lot of basics. As a matter of fact, I listen to the Duke Skapti video all the time at work... http://www.antirfighters.com/Video%20Gallery.htm

Good luck on the quest, and if you happen to find some good resources please post your findings!

I don't know why the bums here haven't stickied the fighting links.

www.midrealm.org/kith/kith

www.bellatrix.org

Go to youtube.com and search for La Prova Dura. This will offer examples of fighting at our top level.

www.rosstraining.com
This offers insite into physical training and exercise.

www.gymjones.com
This offers insite into physical training and exercise.

All shots can be, and should be, done with a partner slowly to understand the mechanics and build muscle memory. The Darkyard practices in Michigan used to do this on Tuesdays, I no longer live in MI so I am uncertain if they still do. You can visit www.legiodraconis.com and ask about the techniques and how they work slow drills.

I also reccomend checking out Eric Dube's raising the armet. This is a great video on how armor can be made. http://bico.tv/

http://www.warriorsofhistory.com/ is a great source for new fighters to fet a feel of how armor looked throughout the ages.

There's lots of good information at www.scholasaintgeorge.org. I think you have to be a member to see all of it.

Thanks however to reiterate I am not looking for examples of great fighting. I'm looking for videos showing or discussing how to do great fighting.

Thank for the links regardless.
Now if I can just find a way to make pell work fun

Gaston, didn't you have asgard drills webbed?
Hark the moaning gulls around him,
Hark their shuddering calls of terror
At his fearful fighting pæan.

If you look in the midrealm site you will see several videos of sword and shield, polearm, and spear.

The Bellatrix site also gives details on fighting techniques.

The examples are to understand how the techniques work. The PT is to get in shape. There is a lot to throwing a great shot.

Someone listed it earlier:

http://houseasgard.com/files.php

Near the bottom of the page. I just realized the newest stuff is 5 years old now so I guess we are overdue for some shooting....
