Rapier helm

Post by Hugo de Stonham »

I once heard someone on the archive mention that he used expanded steel to make a face mask for his helm. Is there any truth in this?

I know there's at least one person making them using perforated plate, and that the rapier rules address the spec's. for perforated plate.

I don't recall seeing anything about expanded metal.

No on expanded metal, Yes on Perf plate.

The specs can be found by searching for old posts on the subject. Or on the Marshals website. Several archivers have posted their conversions and scratch built helms in this forum
