Pennsic under 30 tourney and party.

For those of us who wish to talk about the many styles and facets of recreating Medieval armed combat.

:P I was only asking because I've never been to Pennsic, but have been told that for many of the parties people without ID cant attend.

pretty much. MOST of the big scheduled parties at Pennsic card. Some will not allow admittance for under 21, others will but you get stamped as a minor.

I don't see why we can't X the hands of the under 21 types.

Sounds cool. I just turned 20, so I'm in.
What's the minimum age? What about someone who isn't authorized in the SCA yet but I am certain would make a good showing in the tournament if he was allowed to fight?

You've got time, get him authorized. It's Pennsic, pretty sure you've got to be authorized to fight.

Cecil had planned on marking everyone under 21 with an "X" or something. The minimum age will be 18 for the party.

I hope a lot of people show up, and bring friends. This should be a blast!

I am really looking forward to this. I'll be there with bells on. Let us know when you have an idea of the tourney format. May I propose shark pits or challenge fights in unorthodox forms?

This is a great idea. Young people need a place where us old harumphing bastards aren't belly bumping them around with the weight of our years.

This idea brought to you by Vitus.
The idea was picked up -and is officially sponsored by- HRM Lutr and HRH Ullr.

For some weird reason Cecil wasn't able to create a login name and password for the Archive, so he asked me to post this for him:

HRM Lutr asked me to help him organize this party, since i would know what us college kids like...
I told him we like beer pong! There will be Beer Pong, maybe even a tournament!
There will be plenty of good food and drinks as well.
The party will be on Monday of war week at O'Dark Thirty.
It will be held at Midrealm Royal encampment.
There will be door guards to check ID's. If you are 18-20 you get an x on your wrist so the bartenders know not to serve you booze, but we still want you to come out and hang with us. Please pass the word along, bring all of your friends! This party is going to be a lot of fun!
If you have any questions feel free to email me at pumpkinninja@yahoo.com for anything.

Sgt. Cecil of the Midlrealm.

As His Majesty Midrealm is Hosting this, I asked him (so I could add it to the schedule) if it was UNDER thirty or Thirty AND under...

From an email from HRM Midrealm..

"The young guys say that it's all right for the old guys to play. Including 30 years of age.

Well, yeah, but I guess maybe HRM is implying that 30 is the cut-off instead of 29...so...it's a 30 and Under party?
