Flodden English army A re-enlarpment thingy

Post by Pretaboire »

Hi Guys
one of the chaps on the LH forum suggested i post this here for your perusal
The plan is to apply the high standards or good re-enactment to live role play hence the latex weaponry (which we have had specially made with re-enforced hooks and heavy duty cores ) all the armour is good steel (two of the chaps have almain rivet on under thier base coats ).

Our first outing will be Conquest of Mythodea near Hannover
we are taking 10 uniformed soldiers and 5 hangers on (a surgeon a proper lady and some wenchy types)
From there we're going to look for some stuff in the UK for next year.

Great!

You would fit in at other Larps in Germany, for example this one: http://www.manoevertage.de/ (click at the pictures to get into the gallery).

Perhaps I will be at the Mythodea too. Some friends of mine will be there for shure. Ask for some Landsknechts ("Lapping-Rotte" - means rabbit-troop :D ) in the Air-Camp (Luftlager). Perhaps you can have nice play with them.
Here is their homepage: http://www.de-reuver-online.de/lappingrotte/index.htm

We play without magic and much fantasy-parts.

That looks awesome and I can see a great potential for fun. Why can't we have about 1000 guys like that turned out in the States???

Well, I know why, but I have to ask.

Replace the loofa weapons with steels and you could get yourselves some work here in the UK next year(500yrs since Henry VIII was kinged)....seriously we have nothing that good for early Tudor military and bugger all that good for late medieval military......ooops did I type that out loud.

As Dingey Digby said, but he meant set the foam aside temporarily, rather than ditch them, your tudor kit is excellent.

Where are you based?

Generally a big thank you for all your kind remarks
Digby
replacement or weapons is never a problem as am a member of Beauforts and have a stack of steel bills in the yard also most of our chaps are archers so have good longbows .

Mark, is your Tudor reenactment group still active? My interest is the early to mid-16th-century Scottish Borders. Thanks for the pictures. I recognize Marietta Mansion. Was this picture taken at Marching Through Time?

Yes, we are still active. and yes thats MTT from two years ago. Kieth has done some stuff since then. I like the border conflict too. I'd like to do the "ruff wooing", lots of small skirmishes. It would be good for reenacting.
