I miss Pennsic

Post by Aaron »

Yep, I’ve said it now. I miss it.

If Maureen’s skin condition doesn’t clear up*, I’ll be heading up on my own next year. Maybe I’ll drive over in a rental truck so I can haul things from the barony to there, or something. Or I’ll join a carpool and have a lawn-pimple residence.

But I do miss it. And I’ve been once.

It felt like everything was possible and you could meet anyone, even historical figures, for that magical time.

Have fun, everyone who is there. Tell stories, take videos and pictures, please!

With respect,

-Aaron

* Maureen has exima something fierce, and is scared of spiders too. So these stories of MRSA and brown recluse will send her into a tizzy. :(

I feel ya! My lady is a school teacher whose school year starts the week of war. She could go for the first week, but I want to go for the second. I would feel bad about going without her but I just might have to next year.

The last one I was at was XXX.

Right there with you all, especially you Ingelri, as XXX was the last (and my first) Pennsic I made it to. Now Gulf Wars, well I make that every year but Pennsic is something special.

And I had the time off all set with work, just didn't have the finances. Ugh.

I'm right there with you, Aaron. I would have killed to have gone this year.

last year was my first Pennsic, my authorization arrived in the mail the day before I left . . . I must have spent upwards of 60 hrs. in loaner armour that week, I still have a scar across my face from a helm malfunction . . . This past year I've skipped more FP's that I've gone too so I promised myself no Pennsic until I have earned my stripes and completed my first full kit entirely.

I really want to hit someone with a stick, and i've gotten more armoring done this week than in the last month.

see you all next year

I've been to four Pennsics, but not this year. My lady is pregnant and I just couldn't bear to leave her at home for a week alone.

God I miss it. It's like it has the power to recharge my spiritual batteries for a year.

Next year!
