Making a chest hinge

I just saw a great video on how to forge a chest hinge based on 17th century instructions on the woodright shop:

I'm thinking that the hinge looks like something that probably would be at home in any late middle ages well-to-do home?

The instructions are easy to follow and seemed to be an excellent intro to blacksmithing! Of course the expert makes it all look easy....
