Help with scabbard suspension

I don't suppose someone could tell me how to tie those scabbard suspensions for 15th century swords as seen here:

Would be much appreciated. Its for a short Degen, which needs to be able to be worn on horseback if needed.

Side note: The length of the small strips should be from 2,5 to 3 times the circumference from the scabbard.
