Ealdormere Fall Crown List

Post by Nigel, Duke of Arrochar »

As far as I know without confirmation from TRM's this is the list of combatants for Crown Tourney:

Duke Edouard Beausoleil
Duke Roak of Ealdormere
Duke Jarl Berus
Count Ed the Red
Count Trumbrand
Sir Evander
Sir Nigel MacFarlane
Sir Sigfreid
Sir Konrad
THL Wat (vigilant and will be elevated before Crown)
His Excellency Richard Larmer
Her Excellency Dagmar
THL Tiberius
LHL Streonwald
Ld Quilliam (he's just turned 18)

15 combatants
5 Royal Peers
3 Dukes
2 Counts
5 Knights

Heavy list for only 15 combatants. Somebody is gonna have braggin rights after this one.

Respectfully,

Sir Nigel MacFarlane

Good sir Knight,

I'd love to know who in this list is being fought for.

I realise that the combatants are of most interest to fighters - but their ladies and lady friends can help make, or break, their experience of the day.

Pray, who are they fighting for?

Yes. He was placed on Vigil either at Pennsic or just after.

Thank you Robert, my elevation will be happening on Oct 18th at Feast of the Bear. If they haven't changed their minds by then, that is :)

And speaking for myself, I have requested permission of Their Majesties to fight for Countess Suzanna the Unyeilding, noble mother of Count Rory Cennedi the Kid.

Outstanding news!!! Now I don't feel so bad about getting my tail handed to me at Pennsic last year :P Congrats and well deserved IMHO!

Did Quilliam fight boffer at this Pennsic? Is his real name 'Dor' or something similar sounding? He looked very talented for his age.

Quillium did fight boffer at Pennsic - his real name is Bryn. He will be 18 for Crown, we allow folks to authorize at 16 in Ealdormere so he has been fighting for 2 years with several knights including Duke Berus and Duke Aaron. He is His Magesty Etain's squire. He's a big boy with tallent for sure :)

Prince Nigel. It has a nice ring.

King Nigel and Queen Arielle. Even better.

Did I read somewhere that Quilliam defeated Duke Eduoard in any early round?

It wasn't in an early round, his Grace Edouard met Roak in the first fight of the day and did end up fighting Quillium later on. Quillium took the bout.

Very cool.

I think Mistress Nicolaa posted the comment on Quillium.

We had a recently graduated youth fighter in Crown yesterday, too. The first one who hads earned our new youth fighting award.

He was not the first ever. My daughter (then Nicola, now Leonete) was, several years ago, followed closely by Duke Lucan's son, Constantine.

It was a very energetic tournament with great speed, power and intensity shown by combatants.

HRM decided upon a single list which was indoors due to constant rain outside. The list was long but somewhat narrow which caused problems with fighters crashing into ropes. All fights were best two out of three so endurance played a factor during the day. Double elimination.

Despite there being eight Knights out of 14 fighters I failed to draw a single one. I managed to draw the two Lady fighters (Countess Kaylah and Baroness Dagmar) and our youngest fighter (Quillium who is 18) plus one bye fight. As you can probably gather I won one fight (Baroness Dagmar) and lost two. I had too much fun on the list and I was pleased with my fighting.

It was a delight to fight for my Wife for the first time in Crown.
