Nice work. :)

Great way to let off steam and accomplish something too.

Man Jiri...you do some seriously beautiful work.
Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but we rather have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit. -Aristotle

sanding

Jiri -

What technique are you using to sand between the flutes of the rarebrace? Power tools, by hand or both?

If that's what your work looks like after being pissed off, you need to have someone spend one hour each day yelling, screaming, and absolutely deriding you! That is some beautiful work!

I use both. Even a hand file to get some of the nasty places .

Thanks,

I just got home from work and I have been looking at the elbow for a while and I dont like it. So I took a hammer and gave it another beating to get a better shape. Will clean it up tomow and post more pictures.

Looking nice Jiri, real nice. Look forward to seeing more.

Thanks for your previous pointers on gauntlet cuff rolls, I'm now able to produce much better gauntlet cuffs. :)

They fill be filed round and not roled. Some fluting will be done in the midle and one long flute along the edge.

So wonderful! Thank you for the images!

What does the elbow look like when it is flat, in the rough pattern shape?
I'm curious mostly about the material removed for the overlap.

Thanks!

I'd guess a thick V shape.

It is always a miracle how clean your work looks without grinding. Literally thousands of small hammer marks on the inside... great :)

that black line along the bottom of the back of the elbow...is that material going to be removed or flared out?

Thanks for all the great progress pics.
Perhaps you could put it together as a booklet.
Jolly well done.
I would buy one.

PS: Can we see some more hammers, forms and stakes?

Oh my... You really showed those who the boss is
Anyways you do an awesome work there, and if you really got that few tools that actually would stand for your talent.
I at this moment would not be able to do those and even that clean with my skills, and I do have a couple of tools by now....but nevertheless with those I wouldn´t be able.... I´m very impressed

I should start training a little more when I come home

Jiri!
Thank you for the image of the pattern piece!
That's precisely what I needed to help me generate a template.
I'll leave extra material to trim as I shape the piece.
Thanks again!

Idëval
Not a problem,
one thing I would do is make the pattern longer about 5 cm at the thiner end, and trim the whole thing all over on the sides and the rear about 1cm.

That breast plate is a beaut! Will the lower half be attatched by a slot rivet or a leather strap?

I like the match between the vambrace and the clients casts. Did you work the two pieces of the vambrace while they were attached together or as seperate pieces?
