Well, he clearly knows nothing about armor- he's got the breastplate upside-down and the arms where the legs should be. "Got it from an estate sale" could be legitimate, but even if so, the original seller had to be pretty daft to let an entire Icefalcon suit go for $200.

If i had some extra cash, I would snap this baby up.

He clearly isn't using a stock photo, so this is more likely to be a non-fraudulent auction. However, if these items are stolen, maybe the person whose items they are will notice them here.

I looked at the feedback. The person is in Germany and a lot of the feedback talks about them being a good buyer. If the person can't tell where they are really from I don't think they can be trusted.

"quality leather rivets"

and apparently it's chrome...

gah.

I'm going to forward this link to the Ealdormere elist just in case. I don't recall any stolen armour locally but someone may, on the off chance, recognize it if it is.

A blind man could tell that that is Icefalcon stainless armour.

At $200 + $200 shipping, that's still the deal of a lifetime.

The helm itself is probably more than $600 new.

Wish I wasn't dead broke.

It says Thurmont, Maryland. That's driving distance (1.5 hrs) from me

Not many people pick up an entire suit. Ice might remember something.

"Estate Sale" is a pretty common term used for things that are from an "unknown" or "questionable" background (although I guess in all reality, it could have been legit) that often keeps Ebay from flagging anything as strange. Although having sold stuff on there recently, I am surprised they are letting $200 for S/H fly....especially within the US....new policies are supposed to prevent sellers from making excessive profit on s/h...

Anyone get any size info? Probably should wait to hear from Ice first, in case he knows of any shady past to this rig....

Not only is the breastplate upside down, but the legs are pictured as the arms, and the spaulders and arms are shown as the legs. I just can't see someone who has ABSOLUTELY no idea about armour, buying this at an estate sale. If they were really that dumb, they would be trying to sell it for much much more thinking its antique armour or something.

We need to find out who this used to belong too. Rarely do we ever get a chance to find someone stupid enough to put this on ebay, and I think we, as a community of armourers and reenactors, need to step up and do whatever we can to catch this guy if indeed the armour is stolen.

Assuming it is stolen, bid and bid and never pay...it's happened to me plenty of times as a seller, but thats assuming it is stolen for sure...karma can be a bit of a bugger....

Estate sale can also mean this guy bought the contents of an unpaid storage shed. If someone gets behind on rent, the owners will first lock them out and then if it goes too long will sell the contents to highest bidder, sight unseen.

This could be legit. People seem to think negative of others too quickly. We should give this person the benefit of the doubt.

my 2 pence,
Seamus

This seller has a TON of negative feedback. Lots of people paid him for things and he never shipped them. There are only 3 negatives in the last 12 months, but go back further through the detailed feedback and he has ripped a lot of folks off.

I wouldnt bid on this armor even if it *is* legit.

There is a guy at my local practice in Arlington, VA (close to the maryland border) who fights in a full Ice suit, just like this, identical helmet and everything. I will see if I can contact him.

Someone must recognize this setup by the brass band of chain at the bottom of the shirt.
