In Boston first week of March... worth bringing armor?

For those of us who wish to talk about the many styles and facets of recreating Medieval armed combat.

In Boston first week of March... worth bringing armor?

Post by Jean Paul de Sens »

Subject sez it all.... I'm heading out there for work (leave Saturday) and wonder if it's even worth trying to muck with armor on the plane (based upon my itenerary, I'm not wanting to do so.)

There is fighting to be had in Boston, but there is also alot of other things to do if you dont feel like dragging it along.
Sounds like your schedual is full maybe.
Boston is about a hour south of me, maybe a little more.
If you want practice info forthe Boston area I can dig some up.

D. Sebastian has info for practices in Londonderry, NH.

Boston area - there's a practice on Wednesday, 4 March at Brandies university.

There are practices in fall river and springfield too, but i don't know when they are.

Don't forget the Higgins Armory, in Worcester, just an hour west. As a native, I'm happy to give a hand - with directions, or whatever.

Fall River is Friday nights at 7ish PM. It's been tending to be well-populated - this past week had a 5 on 4 melee. A few folks from that practice are around the archive, too (search on here for flails if you want to see what I mean :-) )

There's a practice in Millbury (about an hour and a half west of Boston, just south of Worcester) on Tuesdays at 7, but these days it is a little small.

The Londonderry practice is also on March 4, at 6 PM but is further away from Boston than the Brandeis practice.

Unfortunately, I'm out for all of them because of an infected knee. :-/

I'm the guy to PM if you need more info on the Fall River, MA practice.
Transportation can be provided. :D
Ask about our near-famous "second practice" :D
C'mon down!

Lup-infected knee? I don't even want to know...
Sabarou- are you guys still doing Sundays? I may be in the mood for a practice this weekend
This is a full-contact martial sport where twenty-year-old athletes can routinely get thrashed by fifty-year-olds with a gut and no knees

The knee's not terminal or anything - just can't engage in athletic activities for a bit. I'll be right as rain soon enough, and only a week or so lost.

(Note to others - when you have annoying cuts, don't drag your feet when it comes to disinfecting them, or else you'll end up like me.)
