Leave the SCA better than you found it. Fight alot of cool people along the way.

March 2009

Greetings unto Æthlemearc, from Maynard and Liadain, Heirs to the Sylvan Thrones!

Though the snow lay heavy on Our fair lands, Our thoughts turn towards the Spring, and Our upcoming Crown Tournament to be held on May 9, 2009 in the Shire of Abhainn Chiach Ghlais. It is Our greatest wish that all those willing and able, endeavor to participate in this grand tournament. The continuation of the Kingdom and succession of the Crown lay in your hands. The ultimate victor should be tested on the tournament field by every brave and honorable combatant that Our formidable Kingdom has to offer. All combatants from novice to Knight are urged to take up arms.

With this in mind, we will limit those requirements outside of Kingdom Law to the following:
1 You must be able to span the length and breadth of your shield.
2 Sports equipment should be concealed. Modern footwear is acceptable if disguised or understated (ie. black or brown).
3 Pageantry and Heralds are greatly encouraged, but not required.
4 Prospective consorts must be present at the tournament.

Contact Us if you have any questions regarding these requirements. Please also review the section of Kingdom law listing requirements (available below). Keep in mind that letters of intent must be postmarked or hand-delivered to the Crown no later than 30 days prior to Crown Tournament.

Huh? With what? Head to toe?
This is a full-contact martial sport where twenty-year-old athletes can routinely get thrashed by fifty-year-olds with a gut and no knees

Lol, nope.

Armpit to fingertips. Pretty much our normal crown rules, for the most part.

Sometimes the Crowns decide to not use the rule, but more times than not, they do.
