SCA/heavy Morions?

Post by Saritor »

A friend of mine is looking at a later period Spanish persona and was wondering about morions and who makes them for the SCA.

Any suggestions? I know Icefalcon can probably do them, but I didn't see any pictures up on the site if one's been done in the past. Anywhere/one else?

I've seen one at Illusion Armoring. Never done business with them though, but they definitely have a SCA Morion.

I've got an Illusion close helm, and it's simply superb. One of the very best pieces of armor I've ever owned (in about 30 years of doing this...). I also have a pair of their mitten gauntlets...also superb (and a very good deal).

They have a reputation for being slow, but my helm was delivered as promised at an Estrella. The gauntlets were an in-stock item, so it's hard to judge based on them.

Wildarmoury also show one in their helmet listings, and it looks very nice.

I also have an Illusion helm that is pretty much bullet proof. Definitely check on his estimated delivery date though.

As much as I would like to sell our own helms, this is a no brainer.

Windrose makes the best Morians I have seen and they are reliable.

Cheers!

Morions

I have to agree with His Grace. I have a Windrose Morion that I have fought in for the last 5 or 6 years and it is awesome. He has done them in both Mild and SS. The mild one was done as a Black and White. Check him out.
