WTB rattan swept hilt basket hilts

Never thought I would want to part with my plastic.so fast ..but now I want to look more period for my "Reiver" kit...links and pics please..thanks

Look for one of Stefan's threads here on the AA...he's got a couple of hilt styles that aren't swept hilt, but are pretty damned close to what you want.

Darkwood also does some period English baskets from the 16th century, and some schiavona baskets.

We have These in stock. They are similar to the Darkwood ones in design, but re-webbed to add strength. We don't do the handle all the way through like they do, though, and ours are heavier.

Very nice. If I were still playing late-period, I'd want some of those. Meanwhile, I recall that Sir Gaston (on this board as Chris Gilman) built some swept-hilts for rattan for himself and very nice they were. You might ask him.
